Hitachi Maxell has announced its noise-cancelling iPod only earphones, the HP-NC20.IPs.
“…plug the HP-NC20.IPs to the dock connector, having to take into account the battery life will be reduced by up to a whopping 66%.”
When it is connected to you iPod, the volume on the iPod itself will not work anymore, you will need to control the volume with the slider on the earphone. According to the company, the headset will reduce noise at a maximum of 20dB.

These earphones will only work on fourth generation (and up) iPods and iPod Touch (first or second gen).
Hitachi HP-NC20.IPs will be available in Japan only starting 12th December, priced at $80.
